Samsung India today said it is planning to introduce 3D (three dimensional)-enabled flat screen televisions in the country, besides
increasing its LED display range.

The domestic arm of the South Korean consumer durables major will introduce 3D models of LCD, LED and plasma television sets in the overseas markets by March-end, and will launch them in the domestic market by June.

"The 3D televisions will be launched globally by the end of March. Depending on the demand, we definitely, plan to introduce it here two months later," Samsung Southeast Asia president and chief executive Jung Soo Shin said here.

The 3D televisions are those that can operate in three-dimensional mode (besides regular 2D mode) showing other details such as the depth and heights of the visuals.

The company is also looking at expanding its range in the LED segment as it hopes to increase its sales. "Last year, we did a limited launch of our LEDs. We will increase the range this year...We feel there's potential for it here," Shin said.

The company had launched LEDs last July and has sold around 60,000 units since then. According to industry experts, the flat screen TV market is growing at over 50 per cent and is expected to become 1.5 million units this year.

Shin said he is looking at a better growth this year as against last year on the back of its flat panels particularly the LED segment and mobile phone category. "We have a very ambitious target this year," Shin said.

Samsung India has been growing at 30 per cent since the past few years and has already crossed UDS 2 billion turnover-mark.

Nokia mulls digital marketing initiatives for N Series

Nokia India plans to focus on digital marketing initiatives in a big way for its top-end handsets like multimedia 'N Series' devices,
business 'E Series' phones and 'XpressMusic' handsets. The world’s largest cellphone vendor is also evaluating plans to sell handsets on the internet in India.

The latest strategies have been drawn up after Nokia tasted huge success with some of its recent online marketing campaign in India for models like N97, the Nokia Music Store and the Ovi application store. Nokia India's entire digital marketing plan is handled by Wunderman, while Maxus is the media buying agency. “Since the N Series, E Series and XpressMusic phones have high technology capabilities, they lend themselves more to online marketing.

Some such digital media campaigns will also feature our brand ambassadors, Shah Rukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra. We are amongst the largest spenders in the digital marketing space in India," Nokia India head (activation, media, online sales and marketing) Viral Oza told ET.

Citing examples, Mr Oza said Nokia had designed a special skin in Orkut for Kolkata Knight Riders in the 2009 season of IPL that saw more than one million downloads. Similarly, there are some 28 million searches in Google related to mobile phones in India.

"Since mobile services is a major focus area for us in India, they will also lend themselves more to digital marketing. However, each of these products and services will also have a traditional marketing plan. Just that, they may be more skewed towards the digital medium," said Mr Oza.

Mr Oza said Nokia India may also start selling mobile phones on Internet. "We already sell it in some countries. This model is yet to evolve in India but has potential as the number of online purchases is picking up. But since almost all online purchases are due to the convenience and price, we may have to offer some good value deals to the consumers," he said.

Nokia has plans to soon commercially launch its push email service
, Nokia Messaging, in India along with telecom operators. It is working on an array of affordable touch screen phones, dual-sim phones and grow its portfolio of 3G phones. It will also soon launch a 3G handset, Nokia 2730, which it claims will break the high prices of such handsets in India.

Electronic Cigarette, Electric Cigarette, E Cigarette

What is an electronic cigarette?

Electronic Cigarettes Inc. is offering you a new product, a new idea, a revolutionary advance in science that is destined to change the way people smoke forever. Imagine a smoking alternative that looks, tastes, feels, and acts like a cigarette but doesn't actually produce any "real" smoke. Instead, it utilizes a tar free, odorless, nicotine vapor that is free of many of the chemicals found in traditional cigarettes.

The way it works is simple. Each electronic cigarette or "e-cig" has a battery, an atomizer, and a cartridge filled with a liquid nicotine solution. Upon inhalation, a device is switched on which sends a signal to a heating element inside of the unit, called an "Atomizer". The e-cig atomizer heats up quickly and vaporizes the liquid nicotine solution into a vapor that replicates the look and feel of smoke.

What makes our Electronic Cigarettes better than the competition?

We use only the most up to date technology in our electronic cigarettes. We are constantly updating our product line and as of now we are unmatched in both functionality and quality with our Vapor King and Duo Pro models. With our e cigarettes you can expect the most vapor out of any e cigarette currently available on the market. with no leaks, no breakage and no worries. All of our units include a 30 day warranty.

ElectronicCigarettesInc Duo Pro electronic cigarettes feature disposable atomizers (cartomizers) built into our cartridges. This new technology eliminates many of the frustrations users have found with dealing with external atomizers such as clogging, wearing down, and breakage. Although these are respectable issues to look into the atomizer on our Vapor King model is of utmost quality and will out-perform any other out there.

Electronic Cigarette Advantages

Electronic Cigarettes have many great advantages.

The electronic cigarette or e-cigarette works in a different fashion that traditional tobacco smoking. Traditional cigarettes require a flame or heat source to burn the tobacco. This ignition and combustion of the tobacco will result in the smoke that users will inhale. The inhalation of smoke from combustion from any source is dangerous, when you add in the thousands of chemicals and proven carcinogens that are naturally found in tobacco, it is deadly. Instead of relying on combustion and igniting a substance into smoke, the electric cigarette works by vaporizing a liquid nicotine based solution into a vapor. Because the ecig will produce vapor instead of actual smoke, the electronic cigarette does not fall into those items that are included in "No Smoking Bans". So it may look like you are smoking but in reality you are "vaping". So with the electronic cigarette you can now smoke inside the bar, restaurant, office, or even on a plane.

Electronic Cigarettes can save you $$$.

State by state smokers are beginning to see a disturbing trend, cigarette taxes are increasing dramatically, the cost of living is rising and smokers are seemingly being punished for taking part in something they enjoy. With the current financial situation we as a nation are in, it only makes sense to spend less on what you can, when you can. With cigarette prices reaching 8,9, and even 10 dollars around the states it is time to take a stand against these outrageous costs, the electronic cigarette is the solution. Although it may seem that a starter kit isn't cheap it should be looked at as a small investment. Once purchased you have everything you need to take advantage of cheap refillable nicotine cartridges and e-liquid. Users will begin seeing a savings almost instantly. Typically a cartridge is equivalent to 12 cigarettes for our Vapor King model and 20 cigarettes for our Duo Pro model. Users will find that the savings are huge! The E-cigarette is also self sufficient, so this means you do not need any lighters, matches, or ashtrays - all which add up rather expensive over a period of time.

Electronic Cigarettes do not produce odors!

One of the biggest downfalls of regular cigarettes is the disgusting smell that lingers on everything they were around. This includes your hands, hair, breath, clothes and even your home and car. The smell is offensive and can cause headaches and nausea. The electronic cigarette solves this issue easily and gracefully. The vapor produced by the electronic cigarette smells rather delightful and it is extremely light. The vapor disappears within the air almost instantly and absolutely leaves no smell behind it. So your hands and clothes will have no indication of you smoking.

The E-cigarette will not stain your teeth!

Cigarettes cause yellow disgusting teeth. This effect is so prevalent among cigarette smokers that there are actually companies that market teeth whitening mouth wash directly too smokers alone. Electronic cigarettes will absolutely not stain your teeth or cause any sort of discoloration.

The Electronic Cigarette eliminates the risk of fire!

Cigarettes are THE LEADING causes of deadly house fires in the United States. A stunning 5.5% of all house fires were caused directly by smoking cigarettes and 4.5% percent by children playing with smoking paraphernalia such as lighters or matches. Electronic cigarettes do not need to be lit, they do not need a lighter or matches and they can absolutely not burn you or your house or even anything at all. The end of the e cigarette will indeed glow when you puff on it, but it is not lit - it is simply an led light on the end. So now you can smoke in bed, or on the couch with absolutely no worries of burning yourself or anything at all.

Auto Expo 2010: Honda' s New Small Car Concept

Honda unveiled its upcoming small car concept in the on-going Auto Expo 2010 in New Delhi, called the 'New Small' for now. The car features a truly radical design that stands out from the current pack of small cars.

The front has a pair of striking pulled back headlamps with LED being the source of illumination, giving it a very futuristic look. The grille has a prominent arrow shaped which extends over to the engine bonnet and the large Honda logo taking centre stage. Below you can see the gaping air inlet split horizontally by a thin bar which ends in cool looking fog lamps.

On the sides one can see the fairly prominent wheel arches and a sharp cut crease along the waistline which extends from the front bumper, all the way to the rear door window. The new Honda car as the interesting two-door effect like the one on the Chevrolet Beat, with the door handles being cleverly concealed. The mirrors are by far the most interesting looking objects on the entire car but it remains to be seen how something so small will be of any practical value on our roads. The rear side carries the futuristic look of the car but doesn't look nearly as good.

The 'New Small' is believed to come with a 1.0L version of Honda's VTEC engine and might also get the 1.2L version from the Jazz. You can expect good fuel efficiency as well as decent performance from both the engines, along with the usual Honda refinement. The pricing is not revealed but it should be prices on par with the Hyundai i10 and the Maruti Ritz. The 'New Small' is slated for launch in 2011 in India and Thailand.

AutoExpo 2010: The beginning of truck wars?

AutoExpo 2010: The beginning of truck wars?

NEW DELHI: The biennial Auto Expo 2010 that opened here Tuesday could well signal the beginning of "truck wars" in a segment that was hitherto dominated by Tata Motors and Ashok Leyland, with Eicher just about getting a look-in. Mahindra and Mahindra, till now known for its utility vehicles, SUVs and of late cars, has already unveiled its Navstar truck, a 25-tonne vehicle that will be manufactured in collaboration with the US company of the same name. The Navstar launch is being seen as a move to take on the Prima heavy truck that Tata Motors has introduced in the market. "Competition is welcome and we more than welcome it," said an official at the sprawling Tata Motors pavilion, not wanting to be named as he did not wish to stir a controversy. "But then, don't forget, we have a head start." Looks like Mahindra has a real fight on its hands.
